DVE and LSA Systems

Thales’s driver vision enhancement (DVE) and local situational awareness (LSA) systems enable military vehicle drivers and commanders to see everything going on around them on the battlefield. They keep crew members safe, while helping them to manoeuvre their vehicles and engage threats more easily and effectively, in both urban and open battlespace environments.

Several configurations on vehicles can be proposed:

• In a typical multi-sensor array, remotely operated cameras can be placed at strategic locations on the front, sides and rear of any military land platform, giving drivers and crew a continuous 360-degree view via screens inside the vehicle. Commanders are able to make rapid, high-quality decisions on engagements and manoeuvres, without ever exposing their head and shoulders above armour.
• In a single sensor configuration, a DVE or LSA can be placed on vehicle (front, rear or center).

In additional to powerful day sensors with capability for operation in low light conditions, Thales’s DVE and LSA sensors feature high-performance thermal cameras with uncooled detectors. These state-of-the-art sensors allow users to see further in challenging environments, even in the dark or in degraded battlefield conditions.

• The ANTARES hemispheric HD vision system, which combines local situational awareness and laser warning into a single product (also part of our protection offering). 
• RODVE and RODVE-D, compact and versatile remotely operated driver vision enhancers, with fast pan capability, suitable for rear or reversing camera applications as well as general situational awareness on all military vehicles.
• ROCVE-SB and ROCVE-DB, respectively single- and dual-band remotely operated crew vision enhancers, with 180-degree field of regard, allowing two sensors to be combined for all-round situational awareness.
