Two appointments to the Thales Board of Directors
Thales announces, in accordance with the ministerial decree of 19 July published in the French government’s “Journal Officiel”, the appointment of Odile Renaud-Basso, Director-General of the Treasury, as representative of the French State on the Thales Board of Directors, replacing Martin Vial for the remainder of his term, set to finish on 17 may 2021.
On 25 July, the Board of Directors also appointed Odile Renaud-Basso as a member of the Strategy and Corporate Responsibility Committee and of the Governance and Remuneration Committee, replacing Martin Vial.
On 28 June 2017, the Board of Directors also coopted Armelle de Madre, Chief People Officer at Arkadin, as "independent director", replacing Guylaine Dyèvre for the remainder of her term, set to finish at the end of the General Meeting of Shareholders called to approve the 2018 financial statements.
A senior counsellor at the Cour des Comptes, Odile Renaud-Basso holds a degree from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration in 1990.
Odile Renaud-Basso began her career as an auditor at the Cour des Comptes (1990-1994), before joining the Treasury department where she held a succession of roles dealing with international, industrial and financial affairs (1995-2005). In 2005 she was appointed to serve as Director of DG Ecfin (Directorate‑General for Economic and Financial Affairs) at the European Commission, subsequently continuing her European career to become Deputy Director of the Office of the President of the European Council in 2010.
In May 2012, she became Deputy Director of the Office of France's Prime Minister. In 2013, she was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Savings Funds at Caisse des Dépôts. Since June 2016, Odile Renaud-Basso has served as Director-General of the Treasury.
Chief People Officer of Arkadin, Armelle de Madre is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York and HEC Paris.
She began her career in 1993 as a marketing analyst at Renault Nissan. In 2001, she became head of training at the headquarters before becoming head of HR for Renault Nissan's logistics business. In 2006, she was appointed head of human resources with responsibility first for the Group's Flins plant and then for mechanical and vehicle engineering, and subsequently for its Technocentre, one the largest R&D center in France with 16,000 employees.
In 2010, she joined Schneider Electric as VP, Strategy and Innovation. In 2011 was appointed VP, Human Resources for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Arkadin, one of the world's largest providers of cloud communications services and part of the global communications leader NTT ; then, in 2016, she became VP, Marketing for EMEA. Since April 2017, Armelle de Madre has held the position of Chief People Officer at Arkadin and in this capacity is a member of the company's Executive Committee.
