Thales Quality Assurance
At Thales, quality management is a way of life, as demonstrated by our corporate commitment to Six Sigma; Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) and Lean Six Sigma used throughout Thales's manufacturing facilities. For the DHS, this means adherence to the techniques and tools used to improve processes for the integration of both hardware and software into unified and robust solutions. Quality management is integrated throughout the project schedule from project inception through project completion. Every deliverable undergoes rigorous quality inspections, regardless of classification. From hardware and software requirements and design, materials, components, documentation, testing, pre-production, production, and operations and maintenance activities, quality is performed and measured. With this in mind, quality assurance cannot be overstated as a highly critical process.
Thales knows that every project delivered to the DHS must be delivered on time and with the highest level of quality and reliability. Thales uses the best practices recommended by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®). Accordingly, we begin each project by developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that reflects all of the services required to meet the requirements of the customer's Statement of Work (SOW). Core program management tools include: a master project schedule for deploying the system, the project organization structures for the deployment and operational support phases of the project, our staffing plan for both project phases, and the project risk register.
