Thales’ development strategy in Vietnam is deeply rooted in its commitment to supporting the long-term technological and economical ambitions of the Vietnamese government. Thales aligns closely with the nation’s strong digital ambitions. In 2021, Thales and VNPT, Vietnam’s leading telecommunications and digital service provider signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore technical collaborations in key digital areas including telecommunications satellites, smart cities, biometrics, 5G and Internet of Things and Cybersecurity.

Thales is present throughout the entire aerospace value chain. On the ground, we are proud to be a long-term partner of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation by supporting their ambitions to become a leading air navigation service provider in the region. In the air, we equip majority of the Airbus fleets with Thales’ avionics and electrical systems, and provide in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems onboard Vietnam Airlines’ A350 and B787 fleets.

We provide major banks in Vietnam with payment protection and banking services, and support the digital transformation of financial services with our digital identity and data encryption solutions. Thales also works with most of Vietnam’s telecommunications operators and equipment manufacturers by providing seamless connectivity and security for mobile and IoT.
