Thales in Jamaica

Thales has been present in Jamaica since 2012, serving local markets of coastal surveillance, air traffic management, defence and digital identity and security.

In Aerospace, Thales has been  a longtime partner of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA)   supplying the air traffic control center (TopSky ATC), primary and secondary radars, as well as  the TopSky ScanSim simulator.

In Defence, Thales is a strategic partner of the Jamaican Defense Forces,  supplying 18 Bushmaster armored vehicles  and  currently implementing a turnkey coastal surveillance system, which includes the  Coastwatcher 100 radar, a network-dedicated communication hub and a national control center for the country.

In Digital Identity and Security, Thales is implementing the new National Identity System (NIDS) in Jamaica that will allow its citizens for the first time to have an official identity card. Each person registered under the NIDS will be issued with a National Identification Number (NIN) and a card.
