Thales Canada Named a Top Employer in Greater Toronto
Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition, a benchmark of the country’s best workplaces, again recognizes Thales Canada as a Top Employer in the GTA.
Thales employs more than 1,400 people in the GTA, which is home to its digital identity and security business in Burlington, and its Global Centre of Competence for Urban Rail Signalling in Toronto.
From its offices in the GTA, Thales Canada provides signalling systems for more than 100 metro lines in over 40 major cities, including more than 120 km of mass transit railways in Canada. It also produces personalized credit and debit card security technology for one third of all Canadian citizens, in addition to biometric solutions for a wide range of both government and enterprise customers.
“The Thales team strives to create and sustain a caring, smart and progressive work environment defined by trust. This recognition is a testament to them, as much as it is a signpost for talented professionals – especially those with science, technology, engineering and math backgrounds – who want to be part of a forward-thinking organization that is committed to making the world more sustainable and inclusive, while together working to build a future we can all trust,” said Chris Pogue, CEO, Thales Canada.
Having established its first Thales Canada location in Toronto in 1967, Thales Canada has for more than fifty years been a leader in corporate research and development, supporting customers in the digital identity and security, transportation, aerospace, defence and security markets. Since those early beginnings, Thales Canada has been a steadfast supporter of the community, a strong partner of local businesses and a positive economic force in the region.
With operations in seven Canadian cities from coast-to-coast and a global presence in more than 68 countries, Thales is accelerating its Environmental, Social and Governance action plan to help build a safer, greener, more inclusive world. Most recently, Thales started its journey toward certification in Progressive Aboriginal Relations™ through the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. And, Thales also demonstrates an ongoing organizational commitment to invest in initiatives that promote diversity to attract the next generation of talent.
For example, Thales’ Early Careers program is designed to give new graduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a dynamic environment, empowering diverse talent to push boundaries and together engineer the solutions that will make tomorrow possible today.
