We work with Civil Aviation Authorities and Air Navigation Service Providers to deliver priority UTM capabilities today, such as registration, authorization and geo-awareness, while ensuring that incremental capabilities can be added long-term for more advanced capabilities, such as tracking and deconfliction.
TopSky - UAS Airspace Manager is specifically designed to facilitate your daily tasks. It reduces your workload by automating job approval requests whenever possible. It gives you the tools to master emergency situations: coordinate a Search & Rescue mission, close areas to drone traffic, complete or cancel impacted missions and ensure that the order has been received by the pilots of drones. It records data for analysis in the event of an investigation.

We know that drones contribute to the economic and social development of territories. This is why we join forces with global and local partners to design a one-of-a-kind solution that fulfills your specific needs. Let’s build it together!

Because we’re also a global leader in ATM (TopSky - ATC is trusted in more than 85 countries and in use to control 40% of the world’s airspace), we work every day to make our UTM solutions compatible with ATC systems, while taking into account the changes inherent in a market that is gradually being built. Furthermore, within the framework of SESAR PJ34 AURA program, we contribute to the definition of the operational concept, architecture and requirements for information exchanges between U-SPACE services and ATM systems, through SWIM standards.
The highest-value drone use cases – think package deliveries, infrastructure inspections, precision agriculture, and search-and-rescue -- require the drone to fly beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) of the operator. Without the infrastructure to support safe BVLOS flights, these use cases remain grounded. We blend physical and virtual infrastructure to support advanced drones operations safely and at scale for all airspace environments.
As we advance toward the future of airspace management, the safe integration of new platforms for emerging technologies will rely heavily on how those technologies interact within existing airspace structure. This is a systems integration challenge (lien vers article), balancing aviation-grade solutions that bridge the gap between industry and the public sector, helping advance safety cases and expanding drone usage on a broader scale. We’re excited to be playing a pivotal role in building shared-use, open, and service-oriented systems that make sense for local communities.

Drones bring an undeniable support to critical and sensitive sites – think counter-UAS, infrastructure inspections, heavy load transport, safety and security. They improve operational efficiency and safety. Nuclear plants, seaports, airports, railway stations... Thales works closely with them to unlock drone operations through a smart combination of physical and virtual infrastructure, services and software applications.
Sensitive sites such as ports or power plants have needs specific to their job: ILS calibration for airports, railways inspections, maintenance of the equipment, defense against rogue drones... And drones are a helpful tool. However, whether it is for the operational management or the protection of a sensitive site, drone operations can only exist if these systems fly safely, in an organized way, taking into account the specific environment of each site. Mission authorization software, airspace assessment, infrastructure... These UAS Traffic Management (or UTM) components are essential to realizing the benefits of drones.
Because not all drones are friendly, we can integrate counter-UAS solutions that will detect unauthorized UAS in an area and intercept them.
Take a look at one of the use cases in which Thales participated: the calibration of ILS by drones in an airport.
