Trixell assesses the life cycle of its digital x-ray detectors
These environmentally respectful detectors integrated eco-design principles starting in 2007. Initiated back in 2005, the approach consists in measuring the environmental impact of Trixell products, from production through utilisation to dismantling. The company also created a dedicated database for its products, working closely with the environment laboratory of Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) in Chambéry to produce lifecycle assessment for all products designed after 2007 and thus report on environmental impacts.
From the carbon footprint of components to the energy produced to manufacture the products, together with recycling, environmental aspects are now taken into account for all products designed by Trixell, even before the start of production and without slowing down the development process.
