Thales Military Training Solutions lead the way in providing turnkey services and training equipment. Our military portfolio spans jet fighters, transport and refueling aircrafts, helicopters, land vehicles and naval platforms with associated weaponry and systems embedded within their increasingly complex operational environment.

Thales also have several active Training Services covering ab-initio, conversion to role, recurring and pre-deployment training. 

Military Aircraft

Thales Training Systems for Military Aircraft cater to complex mission requirements in the most demanding operating environments. 

Our military aircraft portfolio spans jet fighters, tactical transport and refuelling aircraft. It comprises Training Systems and Services for : A400M, Voyager, Tornado, Rafale, Mirage 2000, Hawk and Eurofighter, among others.

Helicopters

With its partners, Thales supports the armed forces with advanced Training Devices on NH90, Tiger, Cougar and other military helicopters.

Thales also delivers outstanding civil training devices such as the Reality H full flight simulators.

Land Forces

Thales's global Land Forces Training simulation approach has delivered more than 300 armoured vehicle gunnery and driving simulator worldwide. Our innovative simulation approach provides Land Forces students with the ability to train and prepare to perform the full spectrum of military operations from offense, defense, stability and support manoeuvres.
In a digitised battlespace environment, we support the progress from ab-initio driving, to advanced tactical driving skills. Full-scale replicas of driving cabs and turrets are included in the range, together with appropriate detection and identification sensors, and several training systems can be linked to real-time computer generated imagery.
 

COMBAT TRAINING SYSTEM

The Combat Training System is a sophisticated system catering for tactical training needs in the field, for company commanders and their subordinates, in decision-making, co-ordination and manoeuvring within a framework of a combined arms tactical task force.
 

UNIT COMMANDER TACTICAL TRAINING

The Unit Commander Tactical Training system is a reconfigurable system featuring a flexible multi-level architecture to train commanders of mechanised infantry and armoured units tactical reasoning and decision making. It is based on 3D graphic desktop stations for trainees and role-players, networked with PC stations for tactical server and instructional staff.
 

SMALL ARMS TRAINING (SAGITTARIUS)

Thales covers all areas of small arms training, from pistols to grenade launchers and guided weapons. Based on a common modular product design, a wide variety of options can be provided to meet specific training requirements.

COMBINED / JOINT TRAINING

Thales offers a global simulation and training approach that links together various simulators to perform the full spectrum of military operations (offense, defense, stability and support manoeuvres) in a digitized battlespace environment.
It allows to achieve a large scale of training goals for joint forces, international and coalition operations.
 

DRIVING SIMULATORS

Thales offers a comprehensive product range of driving simulators for many types of platforms such as tanks, light tracked, wheeled and engineering vehicles. More than 300 vehicle driving simulators of 18 different types are now in operation in 12 countries, in fixed buildings as well as in mobile trailers.

Our worldwide and innovative training solutions at Thales enable Maritime Forces active preparation for deployment in a number of battlespace environments. 
 
Above water crew training
Thales delivers highly integrated surface vessels training systems, for crews, command staff and equipment operators.
 
Submarine training systems
Thales is present around the world with Submarine Training Systems deployed and in active service. Devices include Submarine Control Simulators, Machinery Control Trainers and Combat Systems.
 
Maritime patrol aircraft and anti-submarine warfare
Thales delivers training solutions for a range of maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters, including realistic simulation of sensors (sonar, radar, EO/IR,…) and weapons in the full spectrum of demanding maritime conditions. Advanced tactical environments can be tailored to specific navies requirements or operating environments.
 
E-learning and computer based training (CBT)
Thales has authored and deployed Computer Based Training on a number of vessels in fleets around the world. These solutions provide introductory, operator and maintenance training for a number of the on-board systems, and are available on mobile platforms.

Thales UK training operates mission simulators and related training tools through three 100% Thales subsidiaries MERLIN, EAGLE and ACE. These world class Thales subsidiaries deliver training as a service on a wide range of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and Army Air Corps at 13 RAF bases in the UK

Thales are leading the training programme for the fleet of Voyager refueling planes, and providing a whole range of products from computer-based task trainers to full flight simulators. Through its Joint Venture HELISIM, in partnership with Eurocopter, Thales provides services ranging from initial training to mission planning and preparation for international civil and military helicopter operators.Thales and AMSL are also delivering training for the A400M in Europe.
In Germany, Thales is playing a central role with the Helicopter Flight Training Services (HFTS) consortium to train the German Army’s NH90 pilots at the Integrated Mission Training Centre.
