Defence and Big data: working with France's Conseil Général de l’Armement

Thales is a member of the Big data commission formed by France's Conseil Général de l’Armement (CGARM), a permanent consultative committee chaired by the Minister of Defence. The CGARM has been tasked with examining the impact of Big data technology on defence programmes and to make a set of recommendations to the French defence procurement agency (DGA) and national defence establishment. The commission is studying the implications of Big data for the defence industry in terms of cost-effectiveness, and evaluating new training requirements for Big data specialists at the entities that could use these technologies in the future.
