INNOVATION - SILAB
SILAB technology enables the future services you need to be defined and matured.
The new services innovation Laboratory recently created at the Thales facility in Toulouse, south-western France, offers an innovative environment dedicated to the design and development of our current and new services.
As a real workshop where Thales can communicate easily with its customers to understand and meet their real operational needs, Silab comprises interactive tables and connectivity resources which allow easier familiarization with complex services offerings.
Including the participation of customers on-site, the new concepts can be easily created and validated through role play procedures. Applications of existing product or system architectures can be developed rapidly and independently. Mock-ups can be played “live” for fast evaluation, adaptation and validation.
A comprehensive and fully connected environment
Silab combines Thales expertise in multiple business solutions - air traffic control, avionics, cabin - interacting in the same environment. Case studies can therefore address multi domain services by simulating joint operations in and around the aircraft, such as: Aircraft operating center management, Line maintenance operations, Aircraft servicing by ground crew, Flight planning by cockpit Crew, Cabin management by cabin Crew, Avionics components health management within avionics bay.
All players contributing to the mission of the aircraft can be modeled into Integrated Services thanks to enhanced connectivity between all these environments whether by Satcom, Wifi or 3G, representing the open world environment around the aircraft.
SILAB is also an accurate simulation of the avionics world, as it includes a modular rig connected to avionics systems developed by Thales.
