Thales deploys in Madrid a mock-up for the integration and validation of the systems of Mexico-Toluca rail project

Thales Spain has set up a mock-up of the Mexico-Toluca project. The integration, verification, validation and certification of Thales’ Telecommunications Systems and Control Centre, which will subsequently be installed in Mexico, is done on the representative sample of the project in Spain.

These activities will enable to speed up the installation and testing of all Thales’ Telecommunications Systems and Control Centre in the deployment and commissioning stage, conducting the systems tests and reducing times in the final stages of the project.

The Mexico-Toluca section covers 57 km between Mexico City and Toluca, connecting the capital with the west of the country. The project is being carried out on bare land with two tracks in both directions, and will enable to transport up to 600,000 passengers a day at speeds of up to 160 km/h.

The mock-up of the project includes a sample of the communications systems based on fibre optic data transmission, multi-service network, GSM-R, broadband radio, closed-circuit television, telephony, audio recording, intercom system, public address system, master clock, access control, supervision and control of the safety systems and the Logbook and Master Controller system.
