Accelerate Change by Transforming Training
The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is the world's largest modelling, simulation and training event and everyone who’s anyone will be taking part. It’s the one place to learn about the latest advances and future aspirations, and to get in touch with the industry’s movers and shakers.
Due to the acquisition of RUAG in May this year, Thales’s booth will be focused on the “Once Force” strengths of the Thales/RUAG land capabilities. The acquisition supports Thales's digital strategy by speeding up the transition to digital training solutions that are more respectful of the environment.
Come and meet us in person, on stand no. 2810 where Thales will be casting a spotlight on breakthroughs in the fields of artificial intelligence and synthetic environments, which can be used to create simpler, more versatile and much more powerful training and testing solutions including:

SATISFor a realistic and immersive indoor shooting training, both technical and tactical. |
Our experts will also be presenting several thought-provoking papers during the event, exploring innovations in the Aerospace sector:
Building a World With Deepfake Content – Who Needs Real Data?Wednesday 30 November: 10.30 – Room W300, Theatre Graham Long, a senior engineer at the Crawley site, was awarded the highly prestigious award for ‘Best Paper’ at the recent I/ITSEC simulation conference in Orlando, Florida. Graham’s paper ‘Building a World with Deep Fake Content, Who Needs Real Data?’ was voted top by 50 experts – chosen from 132 papers down-selected from 385 submitted abstracts from around the globe. Just getting a paper accepted at I/ITSEC is a significant achievement as it is widely regarded as the premier conference for simulation and training in the world; and to win Best Paper demonstrates not only impressive technical research but also great presentation and communication skills. Graham is one of only a very few non-US authors to receive this award for excellence. |

![]() M&S Emerging Technologies: Innovation Opportunities and ChallengesWednesday 30 November: 10.30 – 12.00 – Room W308C The European Training and Simulation Association ETSA (“The European Voice” of the Modelling, Simulation & Training community) has invited representatives from several European industries and organisations to discuss the vision on M&S innovation. Thales’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, David Head and Thales’s Product Policy Leader, Simon Skinner will be showing how Digital Twins can bridge the gap between traditional defence simulator suppliers and new entrants, this presentation will detail how innovations in the use of Modelling & Simulation techniques, are being deployed to deliver the next generation of light military combat & training aircraft. Thales Training & Simulation is collaborating with AERALIS, a UK Start-up business that is developing a disruptive, reconfigurable jet aircraft & information system to deliver broad, flexible military capability including training at significantly reduced through-life cost. |
