The Armoured Starstreak system provides a below armour, multi-engagement capability against a wide variety of aerial targets such as UAVs or pop-up helicopters. This highly mobile unit is capable of movement with front line battlefield forces and rapid deployment with short into-out of action times and one man operation. The system is capable of operating and surviving in extremes of climatic, ECM, and NBC conditions. The modular design of the weapon system allows integration onto a wide variety of platforms.
The Armoured Starstreak system comprises a sophisticated Fire Control System (FCS) incorporating the Operator’s Station, the Automatic Sighting System and the Missile Turret.Utilising the Starstreak missile with its unique laser beam riding guidance system, extremely fast time of flight and salvo of 3 armour piercing darts, the system provides the British Army with a truly flexible and rapidly deployed defence and security system.
