SOTAS consists of a family of modular (and functional) building blocks, and crew boxes, network units and application hosting. These can be configured and scaled for all types of use cases and platforms to compose a system that meets each user need. The systems are based on an open architecture using a high-bandwidth network to connect its subsystems. It allows for the system to facilitate clear speech, advanced and secure data storage and sharing, decision support and offers a powerful infrastructure for various critical services and interfaces.

Network Unit The Network Unit provides connectivity for the crew boxes, platform interfacing, sensors , external equipment. The various building blocks of the TNN each offer a different range of capabilities and interfaces. |

Crew Box Graphical
The Crew Box Graphical offers an intuitive, menu driven, full colour graphical interface for access to all SOTAS services, including telephony and operational management. The Crew Box Graphical offers SOTAS services, typically intercom and various radio services. It provides mono or stereo audio interfaces for the connection of headsets, other ancillary audio products and (Combat Net) Radios (CNR). In addition, serial data interfaces for data terminals.

Crew Box Tacticle
The Crew Box Tactile offers rotary switches for quick access to pre-defined services, usually intercom and radio services. The Crew Box Tactile offers SOTAS services, usually intercom and radio services. The Crew Box Tactile provides mono or stereo audio interfaces for the connection of headsets, other ancillary audio products and (Combat Net) Radios (CNR). In addition, serial data interfaces for data terminals. |

Crew Unit
The Crew Unit offers SOTAS services, usually intercom and radio services. The Crew Unit provides mono or stereo audio interfaces for the connection of headsets, other ancillary audio products and (Combat Net) Radios (CNR). In addition, serial data interface(s) for data terminal(s). By means of adding a chest box, additional user controls can be provided. |

Sotas Software Applications
SOTAS is a software defined system. This system supports the growing user needs in continuous functional improvements countering today’s threats, while retaining existing hardware components. The current set of SOTAS includes applications such as the SOTAS tactical voice services and tactical networking, but also third-party applications like BMS, Sensor Middleware, Health and Usage Management Systems (HUMS) and Platform Management System (PMS) applications that allow full control of the platform capabilities by the user. |
