In August 2021, Thales and Hitachi announced their intention, respectively, to sell and buy Thales' activities relating to Ground Transportation Systems ("Ground Transportation Systems"), it being understood that until the completion of the proposed sale transaction, Thales and Hitachi Rail Ltd remain fully independent and competing entities under competition laws.

The procedures associated with the aforementioned transaction led to the designation Thales Portugal, S.A. shall be replaced by the following new designation: GTSPT - GROUND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS PORTUGAL, S.A., maintaining the Thales Portugal NIF.
