Having airborne night vision binoculars in a range of NVGs is a guarantee of excellence. An airborne NVG for combat helicopter or fighter aircraft pilots has to meet higher specifications than a conventional NVG for land forces. It requires the highest level of optical expertise.
Image homogeneity is an essential criterion for pilots, and image quality must be as uniform as possible between the edges of the field of view and the centre. In a moving landscape, any deficiency in optical quality can lead to misinterpretation of visual information. Designed for the longest missions, HELIE and ANGIE are perfectly adapted to the needs of pilots and offer unrivalled performance even in the most extreme night conditions.
HELIE NVG features a large aperture (f/0.95). Compact and lightweight, it enables combat helicopter pilots to carry out missions in Level 5 conditions (dark, cloudy moonless nights). HELIE is a combat-proven night vision device that was first selected by the French army in 2009. Beyond military operations, the product is certified for civilian use, proving its excellent reliability. In this field, HELIE is particularly well suited to sea surveillance, police and customs missions, as well as search and rescue and medical evacuation operations
Specially designed for pilots of fighter jets, Rafale or Mirage 2000 for example, the ANGIE night vision device meets very demanding specifications specific to its use: resistance to aircraft vibrations, shock resistance during landing, resistance to fire and blast in the event of pilot ejection.
In service with the French Air Force since 2011, ANGIE is combat proven on Rafale and Mirage 2000 aircrafts.
