Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson joined Thales Australia as general counsel and company secretary in January 2007. He supports Thales Australia's business objectives by providing strategic legal advice and overseeing the legal affairs of the company. Michael manages a solutions oriented team of Thales Australia lawyers and oversees all of the legal resources used by the group.

Prior to joining Thales Australia, Michael was the chief operating officer at the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC), responsible for the efficient delivery of key corporate services to the Corporation and for supporting the directors as Board Secretary. His role at EFIC included managing the legal risks involved in providing significant financial facilities to Australian exporters and investors operating in complex and varied overseas environments. He has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, and documenting complex transactions. Michael has also worked in an in-house legal role for a major Australian manufacturing company and in private legal practice. His experience includes working closely with Government stakeholders.

Michael is a Notary Public and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
