Strategic Approaches for Product Leaders
Gartner® Report – February 2023
Key findings:
- Cybersecurity is an increasing priority for automakers driven by (1) the growing surface area susceptible to attack caused by the rapid penetration of connected vehicles in the market, (2) the increased risk of significant brand and financial damage to automakers with the widening breadth of updatable vehicle functions controlled by software.
- Automakers are developing secure-by-design in-vehicle systems and investing in vehicle security operations centres (VSOCs) to comply with regulatory pressures.
- Automakers need varying levels of external support from specialist consultancies and technology providers to build out the VSOC and associated playbooks.
