Safeguarding the UK’s critical national infrastructure is essential for economic prosperity and national security

Thales has recently published an article in PoliticsHome that emphasises the urgent need for the digital and physical transformation of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) in today's society. This necessity has become particularly vital since Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and the critical need to strengthen broader European security.

As global tensions rise, safeguarding CNI is paramount. Thales believes that a comprehensive strategy is essential: every device must have an identity, all components should be authenticated, and data must be encrypted both at move and at rest to protect applications from potential attacks.

To address these challenges, we are actively engaged in initiatives at our Cyber Resilience Lab in Ebbw Vale, South Wales. This facility serves as a dedicated space for industry collaboration and research, focusing on enhancing the resilience and security of critical infrastructure.
