New Country Director for Thales Denmark, Ireland and Iceland

Thales appoints Martin Soegaard as CEO and Country Director for Denmark, Ireland and Iceland with effect from 1st of May 2024.

Martin Soegaard has been Acting Country Director for Denmark, Ireland and Iceland since 1st of December 2023 and was recently appointed to CEO and  Country Director for the three countries from 1st of May 2024.

Martin Soegaard joined Thales in the summer of 2014 as an Account Director for Defence with the focus of supporting the defence forces and interfacing between the defence customer and the Thales Business Lines. During his role as Account Director, Thales Denmark, has seen more than double average growth and some good successes with the sale of GM200 MMC radars to the Danish Air Force, a complete replacement program of a tactical radio backbone with SYNAPS and SquadNet to an undisclosed customer, a AW139 Full Flight simulator to Atlantic Airways in the Faroe Islands, the Anti-Submarine Warfare dipping sonar for the Danish Seahawk helicopters and the delivery of the Continuous Wave Illumination Transmitters to the Royal Danish Navy.

Prior to joining Thales, Martin Soegaard has served 21 years in the Danish Army holding various positions, among others as an operational officer. He has completed two overseas missions to the former Yugoslavia and ended his military career as a Major serving in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO).

Martin holds a Joint Senior Staff Course degree in Military Studies from the Royal Danish Defence Academy and has additionally completed an Army General Staff Course.
