Thales, as part of the Destroyer Enterprise, selected as finalist in 2020 Project Management Achievement Awards

The Australian Institute of Project Management has announced the finalists of this year’s Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA). Celebrating its 20th year, the Project Management Achievement Awards (PMAA) exist to recognise, honour, and promote outstanding achievements in program and project leadership.

The Destroyer Enterprise conducted a highly complex Post Delivery Upgrade (PDU) project from January - June 2020, on HMAS Brisbane - the first major maintenance project for this particular vessel.

The work included the upgrade of the Aviation Facilities for the integration of the MH-60R helicopter and upgrading the ships davits and bollards, and other maintenance activities and Combat System upgrades were also included in the project scope. 

The Destroyer Enterprise demonstrated multi-agency coordination to resolve issues impacting the work carried out by the ship repairer and sub-contractor maintenance workforce whilst achieving all maintenance requirements. 

The scope of work undertaken to meet the customer requirements was completed on schedule notwithstanding the COVID-19 restrictions.

The 2020 Project Management Achievement Awards winners will be announced in a virtual event on 25 November 2020.
