Thales celebrates the launch of the Dock Operation and Reticulated Services Contract Enterprise Charter
The Dock Operation and Reticulated Services Contract (DORSC) Enterprise Charter was officially launched recently at the Garden Island Defence Precinct (GIDP) in Potts Point, Sydney. The charter was signed by representatives from Thales, Maritime Docks and Marine Services Systems Program Office, Shore Force, the Estate and Infrastructure Group, Fleet Support Unit and the HMAS Kuttabul Commanding Officer.
The Charter gives direction, purpose, and sets the benchmark for how the stakeholders will focus their energies to work together, through effective communication, collaboration and trust, towards a common goal - to provide dock and reticulated services to support GIDP operations. The Enterprise vision to be respectful, uphold integrity and work professionally as one team were also brought to life through the Charter.
The Charter will be based on the following Foundations:
- Risk-based decisions – mitigation/prevention
- Transparency
- Safety, Environment and Security
- Strategic Alignment with defence estate strategy
- Sustainability
- Improving and maintaining relationships with key GIDP stakeholders
- Positive environment

DORSC Program Manager for Thales, Anthony Burrows said, “Thales’ primary focus within the DORSC is the provision of Operating & Maintenance Services for the Captain Cook Graving Dock and Reticulated Services within the GIDP. The GIDP comprises both Garden Island and Fleet Base East and is an asset of critical strategic significance to the defence of Australia, being the primary operational, repair and maintenance support base for Sydney home-ported Royal Australian Navy major fleet units.”

To celebrate and mark the occasion, a BBQ was held at GI with all the relevant parties. The event also signified the closure of the relaunch of DORSC as DORSC 2.0, trigged by the changing needs of the customer.
