Thales Australia CEO Chris Jenkins gives Occasional Address at UNSW Sydney Engineering Graduation Ceremony

On Wednesday 19 May, Thales Australia CEO Chris Jenkins gave the occasional address at the UNSW Sydney Engineering Graduation Ceremony.
A UNSW Alumni himself, Chris’ speech provided the graduates with insight on his engineering journey, some lessons learned as well as three big takeaways for the class of 2021:
Communication
Work on how you communicate with others and how you work within the team. Your ability to mobilise other people around you with your ideas is an incredible multiplier of energy.
Be courageous and accountable
Every so often you’ll see a moment where you need to go against the crowd and depart from what the rest of the team is doing. It’s these moments where you need to use your communication skills and be courageous – explain your ideas and your pathway and take accountability for it.
Find your passion
If you’re passionate about your goal, it energises your thinking and your whole body in a completely different way. Your energy and your ability to inspire is on another level so it’s important to find things that you’re passionate about.
