CUTRIC Smart Rail Conference

The Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC)'s first Smart Rail Technology Conference 2020 will be held virtually on  November 23-24, 2020. This event will bring together industry experts, business leaders, political representatives and decision-makers on the critical topics defining Canada’s rail future. Topics will include electrification, autonomy and connectivity, light-weighting, big data analytics, hyperloop technology, and post-pandemic rail recovery and growth.

Thales will have the following engagements throughout the event:

November 23, 10:20 AM - 11:05 AM: “Driverless Rail Systems: Making rail safer and faster with the power of autonomous and connected technologies”- Veronica Marin, Advanced Algorihtms Manager, Research and Innovation for Thales Canada Transportation Solutions, will speak on a panel, discussing how autonomous and driverless rail systems could help to advance speed, frequency, on-time arrivals/departures and minimize accidents and errors.

November 24, 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: "Outlook: The Next Generation of Urban Rail"-  Mark Halinaty, President & Chief Executive Officer at Thales Canada Inc., will be a keynote speaker, sharing how Thales' automated rail controls and autonomous and connected rail systems are helping our customers to transform the way transit systems move people below and above ground.
