Our Commitment to Reconciliation
Our vision is for a future where Australia’s First Nations peoples are valued, accepted and have equality in our society, where together we are walking forward and creating the future. We value First Nations custodianship of the land and rich heritage and want to see this preserved and celebrated for generations to come.
Our commitment to reconciliation is documented in our Reconciliation Action Plan, which formalises our commitment to forming authentic relationships of mutual respect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples within the communities we operate in so that we can create long lasting opportunities.
We’re honoured to present our new Reconciliation Action Plan artwork, created by proud Wakka Wakka man - artist and owner and Executive Director of Gilimbaa, David Williams. This artwork, entitled Our Past. Our Present. Our Future. The Extraordinary Potential of Us, explores Thales’s story of reconciliation, including our journey so far, and the chapters we are yet to write. Our story couldn’t exist without the thousands of years of histories, contributions, culture and stories of First Nations peoples, and we’re committed to listening, learning and growing, as we write the next chapters of our story, together. In this video, David shares some of his story and the inspiration behind the artwork.
